The ATCA Welcomes HS Coaches to 1st Tennis Conference

DOZENS OF COACHES LEARN NEW TEACHING SKILLS

The Arizona Tennis Coaches Assocation would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the dozens of coaches who showed up to the 1st Annual ATCA Tennis Conference! Another BIG THANKS to Valley Vista High School for supplying the courts and venue. If you're new to the ATCA, the Tennis Conference was a free event for high school tennis coaches in Arizona looking to learn more about teaching the game to high school players.

The conference started with a round table discussion including coaches from across Arizona. From there, our large group moved to the courts to learn basic strokes, and share tennis drills that work for all players at any playing level.

Afterwards, Arizona State Men's Tennis Coach Matt Hill gave a presentation on strategy and mental toughness.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and participated! If you have any questions feel free to email us at aztenniscoaches@gmail.com.

Coaches Wanted

As our organization continues to grow please contact us and pass on ways we can help Arizona tennis. Future goals include:

  1. Running an ATCA tournament
  2. Giving out all-state awards for all divisions
  3. Bringing in guest speakers
  4. Creating clinics for coaches
  5. Helping players be successful in making college teams
  6. Guide the AIA in rules and regulations
  7. Create a community of tennis coaches at all levels
  8. Educate and support our student athletes

Even though all of our goals are not listed, our mission and values remain the same: to help influence coaches and players in a positive way that will grow and adapt tennis into the future.
